Electronic invoicing is becoming mandatory across Europe. Here is how our new Holded integration keeps your school compliant without adding complexity to your day.
Why we built this
SchoolMate has always included a built-in finance module for generating invoices and receipts. It does the job well — but the European Union’s push towards mandatory electronic invoicing and real-time financial reporting has changed the picture significantly.
Each EU country is rolling out its own technical standards and compliance requirements. Adapting a single generic accounting engine to satisfy all of them — and keeping it up to date as regulations evolve — is simply not feasible. So we took a different approach: rather than build and maintain local compliance ourselves, we are integrating SchoolMate with the best accounting software already serving each market.
For Spain, that means Holded.
Who is Holded?
Holded is a Barcelona-based software company offering an all-in-one business management platform. For language schools operating in Spain, what matters most is this: Holded handles Spanish electronic invoicing, VAT management, and accounting — and it has already integrated with Verifactu, the Spanish tax authority’s real-time invoice verification system that will become obligatory for most businesses.
In short, Holded does the hard work of staying compliant with Spanish law so you do not have to.
