Sign in with Google, Facebook or Apple
To make it easier for users to log into their SchoolMate accounts, we have added a feature whereby they can log in useing their Google, Facebook or Apple account:
How to set this up
Go to School Admin – Settings – Basic Settings – General Data:
At the bottom of the page you can see where you can enter your data:
- Click this button to enable login.
- Enter your ID details.
- Click “Save”.
Apple Sign-In works differently from the other authentication providers.
The school will need to configure their Apple Service ID in the application.
The main question now is whether each school will have its own Apple Developer account. Since an Apple Developer account requires an annual subscription, some schools may choose not to purchase one.
As an alternative, we could allow schools to use our Service ID. However, this would require us to configure each school’s redirect URL in our Apple Developer account.
I checked Apple‘s limitations regarding the maximum number of return (redirect) URLs that can be configured for a Service ID, and I’ve attached the ChatGPT response below for reference.
